Lexington has over 320 qualifying structures in its Historical District and
includes three Mississippi Landmark buildings:
The Masonic Building -
a three story corner building built at the turn of the century
The Flowers Mercantile Building -
currently under complete restoration by the Holmes County Arts Council
Holmes County Courthouse -
which recently underwent restoration.
Lexington is a Certified Local Government.
The Lexington Historic Preservation Commission oversees
the integrity of the Historic District.
The Lexington Historic Preservation Commission members are
Ed Wilburn Hooker, chairman; Ann Brown, vice-chairman; Dan Edwards,
secretary-treasurer; Phil Cohen; and Ann Fant Davis.
